Project Stingray Students
At the time I was in Anguilla, there had been a rush of violence on the small island. The community was rallying together and people were trying to unite as a peaceful people. The entire island got excused from work for one day and everyone came together to a giant rally where all kinds of preachers, speakers, dancers and singers were performing and sharing their messages of peace.

The Project Stingray students were asked to perform at this rally. The students had already been working with me and a wonderful local guitar teacher on this song. They wrote the lyrics, guitar chords, everything. I simply helped them organize their thoughts a bit.

I couldn't believe how perfectly appropriate this song was. I especially love the line "were is the hope for HER children". You would think that I had planted that little feminine seed in their minds, but they did that all on their own. To this day, I think of Anguilla as a beautiful woman.
Our country is crying.
Innocent people are dying.
Then where is the hope
for her children?
Where is the hope
for her children?

We need love.
Where is the unity?
Without these,
our home is a mystery.
We need love.
Where is the unity?
Without these,
our home is a mystery.
